Please add search function to documentation

Hey guys,

Just starting out with Beans, and enjoying it very much!

I am simply blown away by how easy it is to hook into the templates.

Please can you add a search function to the Beans Documentation, and also maybe list the hooks alphabetically so we can find them listed in order..?

There is a lot to learn and that would be very helpful!

Thanks

Guy

Hey Guy, nice to see you around here!

Beans as an acquired taste, the more you use it, the better it becomes πŸ™‚ Regarding the hooks, refer to this reply which explains how the HTML hooks work.

When it comes to a search the docs, you have search on the Documentation index (and on Code Snippet index and Code Reference index). You will see a dropdown on the right handside in the search field which lets you search by category or All for everything. By default, it is set to which ever index page you are on but it is up to you to change it according to what you are looking for.

Happy coding,

Hi Thierry,

I missed the top level search, which definitely helps.

I guess I missed it because I was buried in the categories themselves, in particular the Code Reference Categories in which there are 100's of articles, so if we want to search within the deeper Article categories we need to come back to the front index.

I also find having pagination in this case a bit frustrating because there is no way to cast your eye down the entire list to pick out the most likely subject I'm looking for.

Anyway, it's a matter of conveninece, certainly not a problem.

Thanks, nice to hear your voice it's been a while πŸ™‚

Guy

I agree that the pagination was a bit fustrating, I just removed it since it wasn't really necessary in this case! I have also added the search in the sidebar so that you don't have to go back to the index to search πŸ˜‰

Have fun,

Top notch!

Actually roasting some Beans as I type this, lovely πŸ˜‰
