Multiple Loops with beans

I am really determined to learn what I considered challenging practice with PHP and WordPress and beans seems to make it easier.

Now - With beans using uk-grid and Banks child theme showing how to apply grids - I Wanted to know the best practice to set up first posts, 2,3,4 etc posts differently withi a grid using  uk-panel. with a sidebar. My understanding is multiple loops must be called or 1 loop is best?
