Our Team has a problem with text-domain in Theme Check (https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-check/)
We are developing a WordPress theme and have plan to sell the theme on themeforest marketplace.
We are using beans as the framework and copied beans source to 'lib' directory in our theme.
The problem appears when we check our theme using Theme Check. There is a Warning message i.e "Warning: More than one text-domain is being used in this theme. This means the theme will not be compatible with WordPress.org language packs. The domains found are foodist, tm-beans" (http://prntscr.com/bhegxp)
Our theme is using foodist text-domain while beans library is using tm-beans text-domain. Is there a way for our theme to keep using 'foodist' text-domain and pass the theme check ?
Thanks,
Dasril
Hi Dasril and welcome to the community forum.
The theme checker throws a warning to prevent from typo mistake, that said having two unique text domain when using a framework is allowed on wordpress.org (otto developed the theme checker plugin).
I have re-confirmed that it is allow with the WordPress theme wranglers this morning, here was the reply:
It's okay to have 2 slugs if you use framework The theme check is just worried you did not actually mean to have 2 text-domains, eg. typos, missing hyphens etc or old code
I have also double checked some themes on .org and some do have two text domain.
Feel free to refer whoever is reviewing your theme to this reply, or to the Make WordPress Team #themereview slack channel if they are still not convinced.
Thanks,
Thanks for your reply Thierry, I really appreciate it. I will resubmit the theme, and wait the response from ThemeForest.
